Sound Dimension, una banda fundamental que ha registrado algunos de los singles más importantes de la musica Reggae, temas como "Real Rock”, “Drum Song”, “Heavy Rock”, “Rockfort Rock”, “In Cold Blood”, son clasicos que se han hecho fundamentales en la fundación del Reggae, interminablemente versionados y re-versionados por artistas de Jamaica desde el momento en que aparecieron por primera vez hasta el día de hoy.
Sound Dimension vino a ser en Studio One lo que The Funk Brothers y Booker T and The MGs fueron en la Motown y Stax respectivamente.
Con un sonido increíblemente pegadizo, melodías funkys acompañadas de una musicalidad realmente fluida. Participaron con músicos de la talla de Ernest Ranglin, Jackie Mittoo, Eric Frater, Leroy Sibbles, Don Drummond Jnr, Deadley Headley y más. Por otra parte, instrumentaron a solistas tan importantes como Alton Ellis, Marcia Griffiths o Ken Boothe.
Como banda independiente editó discos en los años que van desde 1967 hasta 1970.

Este disco es el primer compilado de la musica de Sound Dimension, cuenta con una mezcla de pistas clásicas junto con singles raros sólo producidos en Jamaica.

VA - The Mod Scene (1962-1968 Decca Originals)

Este CD de 25 canciones es mucho más que apenas una excursión a los alcances más lejanos de la English Decca Records, es también un viaje a las listas de temas de los England clubs más populares de la escena MOD de mitad de los 60s. Algunos temas de esta colección nunca estuvieron cerca de las listas de exitos de U.K (mucho menos en U.S.A), es más, lo que se hizo llegar aquí es recogido a nivel local en Londres entre los mods que componían el público de la mayoría de estas bandas.
Teniendo en cuenta la mala suerte de England's Decca Record a fines de 1960 (aparte de los Rolling Stones, Small Faces, y los Moody Blues) en la firma podemos ver apariciones realmente sólidos, esta es una buena colección de soul-influenciado, mod-oriented singles de las company's vaults. Algunos, por ejemplo, Small Faces, Tom Jones, St. Louis Union, Chris Farlowe, and the Amen Corner, realizaron algún tipo de acercamiento a la lista de exitos, pero la mayor parte de los músicos aquí consiguieron su aparición solos a nivel local, no pudieron encontrar éxito, y desaparecieron en la niebla de la historia musical.
El sonido de estos singles nos dice de inmediato por qué la mayoría de estos grupos nunca pudieron grabarlos a calidad mundial, siendo demasiado crudos y directos - sin los ganchos para conseguir más que pincharse por cualquier disc jockey de radio.El sonido es excelente en todo sentido, y también es tranquilizador en cierto grado, para aprender de las notas que Decca está cavando tan profundamente en sus company's vaults, estos singles son casi tan oscuros para la gente que produjo esta compilación como lo son para nosotros.

Bronco Bullfrog

Esta película de 1969, trata sobre un grupo de amigos que vive en el East End de Londres y muestra casi documentalmente la forma de vida de los adolecentes en esa época, todos muy cercanos al suedehead, fue dirigida por Barney Platts-Mills y protagonizada por Del Walker y Anne Gooding, aunque no es la pelicula de todos los tiempos es algo que debe existir en cualquier filmoteca.
